Race for Life 2008
20th October 2008
On Sunday July 13th, Sharon, Tanya, Rachael and Sharon Webber ran the Race for Life in Truro to raise money for Cancer Research.
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life began in 1994 to raise funds for the charity's pioneering work to help beat cancer.
It is now the biggest women-only fundraising event in the UK, with every pound raised in sponsorship going towards furthering their groundbreaking work. This includes the scientists, doctors and nurses who work tirelessly to find new treatments for the disease.
To date, 3.4 million women have raised over £200 million for Cancer Research UK, the leading funder of cancer research in the UK.
Our ladies raised over £900 and completed the race in well under an hour.
We would like to express our gratitude to all our sponsors, especially Merriman Ltd., Rosemullion Homes Ltd., patrons and staff of Trickys and the staff of Michael Spiers and Fresh from Cornwall who all kindly sponsored us to take part in this important and poignant event.
