Taunton Team Expansion

Hydrock Byways & Highways has recently moved to new, larger offices at Ash House, Cook Way (off Bindon Road), Taunton to support the company's objective of expanding its position in Somerset, Bristol and beyond.

As part of the growth plans, James McKechnie has joined Hydrock Byways and Highways as an Associate in the Transport Development Planning Team.  James has been appointed to drive business development and deliver projects centred on his own specialities of Transport Assessments, Master Planning and Travel Plans.   James was previously with AECOM, where he was an Associate Director. James' arrival adds further strength to the existing Taunton team, which offers unparalleled regional expertise in the promotion of development sites, transportation planning and highway design work for a range of private and public sector clients.

The Hydrock Byways & Highways team has strong links with the full range of Highway Authorities in the southwest region, including the Highways Agency.  This, combined with the fact that a number of our staff are former Highway Authority officers, gives us a strong understanding of highways and transportation issues relevant to the region and means a smooth path through planning negotiations for our clients.

The Taunton team is currently working on large-scale projects from Basingstoke to the east, Stroud to the north, and Truro to the southwest.
